Petty Officer Harold M Doyle

Friends and Family we are assembled to pay our final tributes and to bid farewell to our comrade in arms Petty Officer Harold Martin Doyle, Service Number: R29127 who proudly and faithfully served his Country in the last World War as a member of the Royal Australian Navy.

Harry, as he liked to be known, enlisted on February 12th, 1946 and served with distinction till he was honourably discharged on February 11th, 1958. Harry saw service with HMAS Cerberus, HMAS Penguin, HMAS Lonsdale, HMAS Albatross, HMAS Warramunga and HMAS Tobruk. Petty Officer Doyle was awarded the Australian Active Service Medal 1945-75 with Clasp Korea, the Korea Medal, the Australian Service Medal 1945-75 with Clasps Japan, FESR, Korea and PNG, the Australian Defence Medal and the South Korean Presidential Unit Citation. This truly was a great record in the service of one’s Country.

Harry transferred from Wyong RSL sub Branch to The Entrance Long Jetty RSL sub Branch in 2004 and was also a member of Mingara Bowls Club. On behalf of the President and members of these organisations, I extend to his family, his daughters Susan and Janice and son in law Dennis and to all his extended family, friends and loved ones our very deep and Sincere Sympathy. May he have a following wind and safe anchorage.
